NEW ORLEANS LA- APRIL 02 Chicago Bulls guard Rajon Rondo shoots against New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday during the game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the against the Chicago Bulls

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to terms with free agent point guard Rajon Rondo, according to sources. The Pelicans already brought back point guard Jrue Holiday this summer, but he could move to shooting guard if Rondo is added.

ESPN's Zach Lowe reports that the Pelicans are meeting with Rajon Rondo on Thursday.

Rondo played well in the playoffs with the Chicago Bulls before a thumb injury ended his one-year stay with the rebuilding franchise.

Rondo averaged 7.8 points and 6.7 assists per game over 69 games and 26.7 minutes per with the Bulls last season.

Rondo is entering his 13th National Basketball Association season after being drafted No. xx overall by the Celtics in xxxx.

The Bulls found a way to make the playoffs as the eighth seed and were up 2-0 against the Boston Celtics in the first round.

If Rondo were to sign with the Pelicans, he would be rejoining former teammate DeMarcus Cousins as the two played together with the Sacramento Kings.

Rondo has averaged 10.7 points, 8.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 11 National Basketball Association seasons for Boston, Dallas, Sacramento and Chicago.

Rondo drew interest from the Los Angeles Lakers but previous stops around the league included turbulence with coaches and teammates.

Despite his bumpy 2016-17 season, Rondo remains one of only three players to average at least six assists the past nine seasons. His 37.6 percent on 3-pointers was the best percentage of Rondo's career, though he attempted fewer than two shots from the arc per game.
