ICC Champions Trophy: Indian Team Selection On Monday

Indian cricket team gets new jersey ahead of Champions Trophy 2017

This has emerged after the CoA met all state associations of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in New Delhi on Saturday, a day before the Special General Meeting (SGM) to be held in the Capital where India's participation will be finalised.

The uncertainty stemmed from India's evident dissatisfaction with the new power and revenue-sharing model agreed by the International Cricket Council last month.

As of date, India have not even named a team for the tournament in England with the deadline for entries well past.

"The all-India senior selection meeting will be held tomorrow, May 8, in New Delhi to pick the team".

The powerful BCCI stands to lose $277 million in revenue over the next eight years under the sweeping changes approved by ICC members.

The Indian team, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrate their ICC Champions Trophy win after beating hosts England in the final at Edgbaston, Birmingham on June 23, 2013. The objective of the SGM was to take a call on the revenue loss and governance reforms at the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Two US troops die battling Islamic State in Afghanistan
Two U.S. troops were killed fighting the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS) in Afghanistan, the Pentagon said Thursday. As per the report, the Afghan government had control over only 52 percent of Afghanistan's 407 districts a year ago .

The BCCI said it was keeping its legal options open, indicating the row was far from over.

"But I can confirm India's participation in the Champions Trophy", Khanna maintained.

The committee headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Vinod Rai has made a decision to accommodate the BCCI's concerns on three of the most contentious Lodha Committee recommendations and the Board has chose to drop its hostile stance towards COA.

"The acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary has been given full authority to talk to ICC and arrive at a deal that is best for BCCI".

On Friday, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), in a strongly worded statement, ordered the BCCI to refrain from taking any decision that might harm the interests of Indian cricket.
