Sources say Nintendo is developing a Mini SNES in time for Christmas

Nintendo said that it never expected the NES Classic Edition to be "an ongoing, long-term product", and was caught off guard by its success. Based on what is rumored about the next mini console by Nintendo.

A new rumbling is happening on the web and it's about another retro console making a comeback.

The iconic game company is working on a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) classic version that would launch in time for the holidays, Eurogamer is reporting, citing sources who claim to have knowledge of the plans. The games also received complete graphical overhauls to look in line with other Super Nintendo games.

Unnamed sources say Nintendo has already started developing the console, with a target launch set for before Christmas.

Per the report, it is believed that Nintendo will stay true to the "plug and play" setup that worked so well with the NES Classic before it, meaning a pre-loaded selection of classic games. The console, which was called the NES Classic Mini in the territory, is no longer being manufactured in Europe.

Stream Kendrick Lamar's New Album, 'DAMN.'
He previewed it in 15-second snippets on his Instagram story Thursday, one day before the album is set to release. Can he go for the three-peat? I suppose Kendrick Lamar's new album is just too fire to keep quiet about.

Make sure you get your SNES Mini as quick as you can, because your best option of getting it after the fact will be in the eBay resale market, which will undoubtedly sell for a markup.

But, if Nintendo does end up releasing an SNES Classic Edition, would the company be able to keep up with demand?

There is no official word from Nintendo on the possible existence of the SNES Classic, but we'll let you know if they confirm or deny (likely deny, followed by confirm). NES Classic Edition was announced in July 2016 before it hit shelves in November. Unless Nintendo plans to sell it at a much higher price tag (than the NES Classic's $59), there's absolutely no reason to think the company couldn't have sold both systems simultaneously with meteoric returns.

The NES Classic Edition is an adorably small console - so small it fits in your palm.

The NES remake is compact and lightweight, and features a body that's only a fraction of the original Nintendo console's size. Maybe Super Metroid, or Chrono Trigger?
