Russia: Putin Explained to Tillerson Why Relations Have Deteriorated

Assad Idlib attack 100% fabricated Syria destroyed all chemical weapons

Two days after, the United States launched 59 cruise missiles against the Shairat military base in central Syria, where from, according to the USA, airplanes carrying chemical weapons took off.

The United States is disputing that it has agreed with Russian Federation on the need for a United Nations investigation into a chemical weapons attack in Syria.

Lavrov also says that Russian President Vladimir Putin could restore a military hotline with the US if Washington focuses on fighting the Islamic State and other extremist groups.

The April 4 attack in the town of Khan Sheikhoun killed scores of people and prompted the USA to launch a cruise missile strike on a Syrian air base in response, its first direct assault on the Assad government in the six-year-old conflict. Russia wants the USA to eliminate sanctions on Moscow related to its 2014 annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region and support for pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.

In Washington, Trump said the United States was not getting along "at all" with Moscow, adding that the relationship "may be at an all-time low".

Mr Tillerson said there was "a low level of trust" between both countries and such a relationship could not be allowed to continue between the world's foremost nuclear powers.

"We don't know whether those dead children were killed in Khan Sheikhoun", the tyrant said.

Russian Federation has also denied a chemical weapons attack took place in Syria saying the deaths in Khan Sheikhoun were caused by a Syrian regime airstrike on a rebel-controlled chemical weapons factory on the ground.

After meeting with Tillerson, Sergey Lavrov warned the U.S. against any attempt to remove Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power, saying it could lead to chaos as it did in Iraq and Libya, the CBC reports.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson echoed that comment after meetings with Russian leaders in Moscow, saying that relations are at a low point with a low level of trust.

Dmitry Peskov on Thursday said that the tone of the meeting had been "fairly constructive". According to the AP, Lavrov accused the US of launching an unlawful attack against Assad.

The palpable tension hanging over Tillerson's trip spoke to a widening chasm between the former Cold War foes.

"We are mindful of seriousness of that particular interference in our elections and i'm sure Russian Federation is mindful of it as well".

"We frankly discussed the current state of the U.S. -Russia relations".

Lavrov is also subtly mocking Tillerson for the fact that top U.S. State Department positions are unfilled.

"The U.S. isn't serious in looking for any kind of a political solution", Assad said.

"Right now we're not getting along with Russian Federation at all", Trump flatly declared at a White House press conference on Wednesday, giving stark proof the president is moving ever further from his 2016 campaign promise to establish better ties with Moscow. But in a Fox Business Network interview, the USA president said he wouldn't intervene militarily against Assad unless the Syrian leader resorts to using weapons of mass destruction again. "A successful ouster of a dictator is for me very hard to remember".

"Our impression is that the West, principally the US, is colluding with terrorists, and that it made up this whole story to serve as the pretext for an attack", Assad said in the interview released Thursday.

It is not the first time Mr Putin and Mr Tillerson have had talks.
