Sebastian Vettel is level on points in the title race with Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton had to cede pole to team mate Valtteri Bottas in Bahrain after a great performance by the Finn, but the triple World Champion was quick to praise his Mercedes teammate.

Championship leader Sebastian Vettel clocked the fastest time for Ferrari in Friday's opening free practice session for this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Haas driver Kevin Magnussen and Sauber's Marcus Ericsson were 16th and 17th ahead of Pascal Wehrlein. Esteban Ocon wound up 14th for Force India, citing a lack of grip on his final Q2 lap as he finished two seconds off the pace.
