The user names of those people won't subtract from your tweet's 140 character count, the company has announced. Since there's no limit on how many people you can tag in a reply to a tweet or a group, be prepared to see yourselves tagged in random tweets.

Since Twitter saw some of its users struggle with its character limit, which is why it is most popular for, the social media platform chose to bring a change, another change and before you know it there's another one.

The new experience is already live on the web version of Twitter and an app update bringing this change should be on the way for Android and iOS.

Next time you reply to someone on Twitter, you will have more room to do it.

Precisely, these 140 characters are the protagonists of the day, since Twitter has made a decision that it will not expand them. Today's change is going to prove a boon for those who reply to tweets. Twitter soon adopted and formalized the convention, and co-founder Ev Williams explained its intricacies in a 2008 blog post.

Oppn equates Finance Bill with terrorism, gets 5 amendments incorporated in RS
Jaitley also brushed aside the opposition's fears that linking income tax returns and bank accounts with Aadhaar may be unsafe. His assurances, however, did not cut ice with the Opposition which kept asking questions. "This is not a Finance Bill".

Additionally, whenever you tap on the reply button to tweet your replies, Twitter will let you manage which accounts you reply to in that conversation.

Twitter confirms Twitter handles in replies will not be counted in the 140-character limit.

The Atlantic's Robinson Meyer, a longtime Twitter critic, seemed to buck the backlash with a tweet declaring Twitter's user base "the only group of people more intransigent and preening than the Freedom caucus". But earlier it was easy to remove the Twitter handles you didn't want in the reply in a very easy manner. It could also keep users on the site longer, which Twitter badly needs.

Twitter's defining feature is the 140-character limit it imposes on tweets and retweets. This can be done by tapping specific names in the small pop-up that appears onscreen after tapping the field. This has been seen as a way to encourage more use and sharing of pictures, videos and links.

With this change, Twitter has simplified conversations.
