House panel should investigate Clinton, not me

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gestures while speaking before the Professional Businesswomen of California Tuesday

President Donald Trump lashed out late Monday on Twitter against the Russia scandal "hoax" and accused his former rival, Hillary Clinton, of Russian ties - and Fox News carried the story forward the following morning.

In the tweet below, Trump is talking about a debunked conspiracy theory about Hillary allegedly selling uranium to Russian Federation. "Trump Russia story is a hoax", Mr. Trump wrote over two tweets.

Trump's top spokesman, Sean Spicer, has mostly done the same when asked about separate probes being conducted by the House and Senate Intelligence committees.

On March 20, FBI Director James Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee that the agency was investigating "coordination" between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

Mr Trump also criticised Ms Clinton for "praising Russia".

The Democratic minority leader in the US Senate, Charles Schumer of NY, added a new element to the campaign over Trump and Russian Federation when he suggested during the week that it would be "unseemly" for the US Senate to approve the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court while the president who nominated Gorsuch was under FBI investigation.

New York's advocates for people with disabilities say proposed cuts to Medicaid would force many of them into institutional care. House of Representatives is expected to vote on the new health care plan, called the "American Health Care Act".

President Trump couldn't handle it, he took to Twitter on Monday to let off steam.

"Certainly, it would make some sense and show some leadership and allow us to move forward with an independent investigation into the Trump campaign and White House' ties to Russian Federation", he said.

Earlier Monday, Democrats in the House called on the House Intelligence Committee chair, Republican Devin Nunes of California, to recuse himself from the investigation after it came out he made a secret trip White House and had seen intelligence reports. They get - for the Clinton Foundation - literally millions and millions of dollars sent to the Clinton Foundation, Hillary herself has to sign off on the Uranium One deal, where Russian Federation literally controls 20 percent of American uranium?

Trump also tweeted about the House Freedom Caucus snatching "defeat from the jaws of victory" - presumably a reference to the failure of the House to pass a repeal and replace plan for ObamaCare. "After so many bad years they were ready for a win!" he tweeted. Trump has mostly opted against publicly blaming the moderates, likely because he needs them to pass just about any future legislation. "Do not worry, we are in very good shape!" "If the effort is going to be, 'get the Democratic Party to stop making Russian Federation out to be the evil villains that they are, ' the influence part could be continuing with Podesta, which is to influence him to get them to stop".

The White House, however, denied it is trying to prevent Yates from testifying.
