Multi-Day Threat of Severe Storms This Week Kicks Off Sunday in the Southern Plains; Large Hail, Damaging Winds

Today's topic is severe thunderstorms. Thunderstorms can be extremely risky.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning means National Weather Service meteorologists have determined that a severe thunderstorm is occurring or likely to occur.

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Monday due to an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms.

Some of those storms could reach severe limits and contain damaging wind gusts and hail up to ping pong ball size.

A supercell thunderstorm that formed in Central Texas beat the odds and maintained its strength into the overnight to eventually travel through Brazos and Robertson Counties especially, dropping heavy rain and hail along and west of Highway 6.
