Ghost Calls Continue to Baffle Dallas Police

Ghost Calls Continue to Baffle Dallas Police

The Dallas Morning News has an in-depth look at the city's problem, in which false 911 calls from T-Mobile devices flood the switchboards and make it hard for legitimate calls to get through.

Police officials have used overtime to beef up staffing in the 911 call center.

"We will stay on this until it is fully resolved and everybody can rest comfortably that when they call 911 and they call for an emergency request for help, it will be addressed immediately", Carey said.

She dialled 911 three times but was reportedly placed on hold for a total of more than 40 minutes and eventually hung up.

Neither death has conclusively been linked to the T-Mobile 911 problem, but no one disputes that something is broken and that T-Mobile USA is trying to fix it.

"I said, 'Why you couldn't call 911?' She said, 'I am calling 911". Hanging up "puts you back at the bottom of the queue and causes further delays in reaching a 911 call taker", the city said.

The Mayor of Dallas has also called for action.

The calls are coming from customers of T-Mobile US Inc., Dallas officials said Wednesday at a news conference. The child was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. "And so the value of those officers' time should definitely be sought from T-Mobile".

Texans interested in trading for Malcolm Butler
New England might just get Cooks for one season, and if the season doesn't end in a trip to the Super Bowl, it could be a letdown. He caught six touchdown passes last season, three of which came against New England's AFC East rival New York Jets .

"There is no evidence at this time connecting the child's death to the T-Mobile ghost call issue".

Taffet says he tried to call 911, but the call dropped. On the last call, she spent 31 minutes on hold and still never got to speak to a dispatcher.

"We've got them here now", Rawlings said of the engineers. Usually, a 911 moderator calls back quickly when there is a hang-up.

The babysitter made the first call at 5:55 p.m lasting 55 seconds.

Rawlings said city leaders have had "long and frank conversations" about the ghost calls with T-Mobile executives. Bridget Alex blames the glitch for the death of her six-month-old son who fell off a bed.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings says the city is investigating claims the problem with the system led to the death of a six month old baby over the weekend.

We've reached out to T-Mobile for additional information and will update this post should it arrive.

T-Mobile engineers are in working to fix the problem. "Because at the end of the day, my son was still breathing, but had y'all come out like y'all were supposed to, my son would still be here in my arms".
