"I thought, 'I gotta get to that vehicle'".

Viloria told WPLG that the customer, an off-duty Miami-Dade police officer, seemed fine as she placed the order but when he handed her the bag of food he noticed that she appeared to be having difficulty taking a breath.

He hopped out of the window and ran to her auto, where she had lost consciousness.

"I thought immediately, 'Something's going wrong with that woman now, and I've got to do something to help her, '" he said.

The vehicle began moving forward and that's when Viloria sprung into action.

"If I had to die to save that woman I would have", Viloria said.

Surveillance video shows the SUV narrowly missing another auto before hitting a curb.

The woman's vehicle narrowly missed the auto in front of it and came to a stop against a nearby curb.

Another McDonald's employee who is trained in CPR also helped keep the officer alive until first responders took over.

Inside the restaurant at the same time there was an off-duty Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officer.

Viloria is being hailed as a hero by his boss, Alex Menendez, who owns the McDonald's franchise where the incident occurred.

Rescue units arrived and transported the woman to a local hospital where she was listed in critical condition, according to WSVN TV.

The man told the police and the reporters that by the time the female police officer reached his drive-thru window she had trouble breathing.

But it was Viloria's quick thinking that alerted everyone that there was person in need.

"I thought if these kids lose their mother today, that's gonna be tragic", Viloria said.

"It is what a hero does", he said.
