At least nine people were injured when a blast took place in Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train at Jabari station of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning, The Times of India reported.
The incident took place in coach GS 084202 of train no-59320 in Madhya Pradesh's Shajapur at around 9:45 AM, when the train had left Jabri station in Ratlam division of Western Railway (WR).
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bhupendra Singh told PTI in Bhopal that "the initial investigation suggests the blast is a terror attack and investigation is underway to unravel the conspiracy behind the incident".
As per preliminary information, almost four persons were injured in the blast. "Two others are being treated at Kalapipal town in Shajapur district", he added.
Three compartments of the trains reportedly derailed after the blast. "Accident Relief Medical Equipment, Ujjain, reached the site", it said. The passenger train was travelling from Bhopal to Ujjain and the injured have been rushed to Kalapipal General Hospital.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the state DGP, forensic experts, and officials of the Special Task Force and Anti-Terrorism Squad to conduct an enquiry. Passengers have given different reasons including explosion in wirings, mobile or a suitcase. The government announced a compensation of Rs 50000 for the critically injured and Rs 25000 for the injured.
