Turkey says '100 IS fighters' left in Syria's Al-Bab

Turkey kills '14 Daesh terrorists' in northern Syria

The vehicle bomb struck military and security offices in Sousian, which is behind opposition lines about 8 km (5 miles) northwest of al-Bab, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, said.

The attack was carried out in Sousian, northwest of Al-Bab and wounded many others, the sources said. Most of the casualties were of fighters.

The fighting has reduced much of al-Bab to a ghost town, its prewar population of about 100,000 having dwindled to the low thousands.

At least 51 people were killed in the blast, majority civilians, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The rebels have been besieging the town of al-Bab for weeks. "When the operation is over, we will be able to say that Al-Bab has been completely cleared of Daesh [Islamic State] elements".

The first blast struck outside a security office the village of Sousian, five miles northeast of al Bab, killing at least 60 people, including civilians waiting to get permits to return home to al Bab.

Despite the war between these groups, both the sides along with a group of militias led by Kurdish forces have been fighting ISIS in the region. The offensive, fought by FSA and Turkish ground forces, also aims to limit Kurdish territorial ambitions in the same area.

At least 131 bodies were found on Wednesday and Thursday in two separate mass graves near the town of Khan Sheikun, said the Observatory.

Separately, two Turkish soldiers were killed in a suicide attack in Al-Bab on Friday as they were carrying out road checks, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said. It said the target was a rebel checkpoint. Also, according to a TSK statement, a 2,225-square-kilometer area has been liberated and is now under the control of the FSA.
