But that's the last time anyone saw her.

22, 2005, just a few weeks before her 31st birthday, Grinstead disappeared after attending the local Sweet Potato Festival in Ocilla, Georgia, 165 miles south of Atlanta. But her keys and purse were gone. And there was no sign of break-in or signs of struggle.

The GBI is set to hold a news conference at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Irwin County courthouse in Ocilla to discuss updates in the investigation into the 2005 disappearance of Tara Grinstead.

"I think the whole case needs a fresh look", Lindsey said.

Now, the expedited removal process can be used for those in any part of the country illegally for up to two years. Kelly called for 10,000 additional ICE officers and agents and 5,000 new hires at the U.S.

Ryan Duke, is a former student of Grinstead's while she taught at a high school in Irwin County, GA. Though they have received many tips over the years, none led to credible information. The information gained from the interviews led agents to develop enough probable cause to get an arrest warrant for Duke, charging him with the murder of Grinstead. Before Duke's arrest, GBI interviewed more than 200 people without finding a single person of interest.

Authorities never stopped investigating Grinstead's case, said Ricketson, who noted that her file had become the largest one in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's 80-year history.

The suspect "never came up on our radar" during the investigation into Grinstead's disappearance, investigators said at the news conference.

Grinstead's remains have never been found, and the search continues.
