Georges St-Pierre likely to make UFC comeback as company agrees to terms

St Pierre has stated that he is comfortable fighting anywhere from lightweight to middleweight, which opens up a plethora of options for his return fight from a three-year retirement.

Earlier this week, we learned that former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and the UFC had buried the hatchet and agreed on the terms for a new contract.

So far there have been no opponents or return dates announced, but White mentioned that the victor of the rematch between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson in UFC 209 for the welterweight title could be a possible opponent for St. -Pierre.

"He's back. I'm excited", White told the Los Angeles Times. "It took a lot of time, but we did it", White said, according to the Times.

Royals finalize two-year, $12 million deal with Wood
Last season Wood pitched in 77 games, posting a 2.95 ERA and helping the Cubs claim their first World Series title since 1908. The verisitility wouldn't stop there as Wood then homered in game 2 of the NLDS against the San Francisco Giants .

According to Tyron Woodley, however, who now holds the UFC welterweight title, St-Pierre should no longer be considered the best welterweight ever. In July 2015, the UFC introduced an anti-doping policy enforced by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). He answered that setback by defeating Serra in April 2008. It appears all hatchets have been buried and kinks hammered out as GSP is officially back under the UFC promotion. He last fought at UFC 167, earning a controversial decision over Johny Hendricks in a championship fight.

St-Pierre has not stepped inside the Octagon since November 2013. The French-Canadian would later reveal his team was working with the UFC on a new deal, a potential fight against Bisping, the UFC's middleweight champion, being a key factor. He says he can make the weight.

"I am the fighter they are targeting", said the Englishman. "We don't have anything booked and literally haven't talked to anybody about it", he wrote. According to ESPN, St. -Pierre had initially meant to return in July of previous year, but a deal was never finalized. UFC, in a statement, insisted St-Pierre remains under contract.

The UFC's other marquee pay-per-view star, Ronda Rousey, was decimated by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December and White says she has told him she is "ready to move on" from fighting.
