I just found out: Dakota was excited to share the news with everyone on the red carpet

Not that the box office will notice.

And if other moviegoers are watching "Fifty Shades Darker" for the sex, the sex is neither raunchier, nor more passionate than the first.

The elevator doors closed, ending the tumultuous relationship between Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson) and the tortured Christian Grey (played by Jamie Dornan) at the end of the first movie. We have gratuitous sex that happens every ten or so minutes, ridiculous representations of wealth (seriously, it's only Christian Grey who has places everywhere), done in the name of recreating E. L. James' understanding of a woman's ultimate dream. However, she will later agree to move in. As Fifty Shades Darker begins, Christian reenters Ana's life, begging for a second chance. So they blindly get married thinking they would live happily ever after. Right now it has only 8 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and most critics have panned the film as being only half as good as the original. There are a fair number of R-rated sex scenes, repeated conversations about Christian's controlling nature, and many (many) shots of Dornan and Johnson staring longingly into each other's eyes.

The dialogue at times also brought a hysterical reaction.

Blizzard conditions confirmed in some areas as storm hammers MA
Forecasters predict New York City will see six inches or more, while Boston is due for as many as 18 inches. Many government offices also were shuttered with MA and CT ordering non-emergency workers to stay home.

"I think she carries herself with such integrity and self worth that maybe if they watched it they would feel a little bit inspired".

Christian: "I want you to wear these beads". Dornan and Johnson are far better than the material, and you sense they know it this time. She pulls out a gun and attempts to shoot Ana before Christian bursts into the apartment to talk her down. And Kim Basinger as the older "Mrs. Robinson" from his past and is given a melodramatic face-slapping scene that wouldn't make it into a daytime soap.

"According to "Fifty Shades Darker", an intelligent and capable young woman who meets long-established conventional criteria of beauty will inevitably become the target of men's obsession and abuse". Wouldn't it be wonderful if it ended up like The Rocky Horror Picture Show - we'd all turn up wearing Venetian ball masks and shouting, "They're called nipple clamps!" Its predecessor Fifty Shades of Grey was banned in India despite there being a toned-down version of the erotic film.

I know, I know - most people aren't seeing this movie in order to have their perspectives widened about the portrayal of women on-screen.
