YouTube GO app finally makes its way to Android

Google will remove millions of apps from Play Store by March 15

2012 Consumer Electronics Show Showcases Latest Technology Innovations

If you're confused as to why Google has two music streaming apps, specifically YouTube Music and Google Play Music, the tech giant may be rethinking that strategy too.

When Android Police tried out the app they noticed that it requires you to enter your mobile number and verify it so that it can find friends with whom you can share your YouTube videos.

There's an additional social aspect where you can share videos with friends through Wi-Fi Direct instead of burning up your data. Playlists and comments are also missing from YouTube Go. YouTube Go app is now available for download. In fact, you can't even get 720p video from the app.

American Airlines flight from Columbus makes emergency landing in St. Louis
By about 11 a.m., some crew members had returned to the plane, the mobile stairs were removed and the plane was moved. Officails said at 10:30 a.m. that a security sweep of the plane turned up no evidence of a credible threat.

YouTube Go offers previews, allowing you to see segments of a video before proceeding with playing or downloading that particular video. It has a streaming catalog of over 30 million songs and lets users save up to 50,000 songs from their own collection on the app. It is, after all, meant to help you save data, which usually means compromising on quality.

Google's YouTube Music and Play Music apps have always been two ships in need of a single rudder, offering an overlapping set of features with separate logins and interfaces. On navigating to the home page of the app, the user can start browsing through recommended videos or search for specific YouTube video that he/she wants to download.

This measure is in the advantage of users foremost; as it makes sure that all apps abide by Play's privacy policy and that so-called "zombie apps" would be removed. The hotspot connection so formed will not consume data from any of the parties involved in the transmission. The other person doesn't have to download the video separately, thereby saving data. The premium YouTube Red platform even already allows subscribers to access both YouTube Music and Google Play Music services. Recently, Johanna Wright, Google's Vice President of Product Management has announced that a lighter and less resource-consuming version of the app has been launched in India.
