Drop Ivanka's line? Nordstrom gets Twitter response from Trump

10 February 2017, 02:13 | Clarence Schmidt

The president tweeted, "My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by Nordstrom" adding "She is a great person - always pushing me to do the right thing!"

Trump's Nordstrom tweet raised eyebrows not only because of its content but also its timing, which, as many noted, suggested that the tweet was sent about 20 minutes after the start of the president's daily intelligence briefing.

Stephen Colbert tore into Donald Trump during his Wednesday night monologue on The Late Show for a tweet the president posted about his daughter Ivanka's clothing line being pulled from Nordstrom stores.

Donald Trump on Twitter Wednesday, didn't pay a price with investors.

Nordstrom shares dropped after the tweet but later recovered.

Senate passes bill to bring ride-sharing to upstate
James Seward, R-Milford, Otsego County - includes a lower tax than Cuomo's proposal, which would tax each ride 5.5 percent. The two ride-hailing companies are now prohibited from operating outside of the New York City area.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer echoed the president's anger with the high-end fashion store in a news conference today.

Ivanka Trump models an outfit as part of a promotion for her clothing brand. She said, "at this time, we continue to offer the line of merchandise".

Yes, the US President has now personally gotten involved with his daughter's fashion business - even though he said he was divesting himself completely of his family's business dealings. "In this case, based on the brand's performance we've decided not to buy it for this season", a spokesperson told TooFab at the time. Nordstrom said that it cuts about 10 percent of brands each year over performance issues. In addition to advising department stores against carrying the line, Coulter, now a Bay-area marketing consultant, suggested women stop buying Trump's clothing and accessories.

Nordstrom said it removed the items due to slow sales. Campaigns such as #GrabYourWallet and others have been urging consumers to boycott retailers that sell merchandise affiliated with the Trump family brands.

Ivanka, who relinquished control of her company last month, has no formal role in the Trump administration but remains very close to the White House. Very disloyal company. Another win for Trump!
